Saint Francis is the patron Saint of animals and in this case the figure itself was adapted from the 14th century masterpiece by Giotto and a new background created by artist Jean Fitzgerald. There is a rabbit, racoon and lamb in the scene as well. A wonderful gift for anyone involved with rescuing animals for whom Saint Francis has special meaning.
