Orthodox Icon of Saint Nicholas The Wonderworker Rubber Stamp

Orthodox Icon of Saint Nicholas The Wonderworker Rubber Stamp

A traditional Orthodox icon of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker, the beloved Bishop of Myra and one of the most venerated saints in Eastern Christianity. In classic Byzantine iconography, Saint Nicholas is depicted as an elderly bishop with a high forehead, short white beard, and calm, penetrating eyes that express wisdom, mercy, and spiritual authority. He is shown wearing the omophorion, the distinctive vestment of a bishop, often adorned with black crosses. His right hand is raised in the gesture of blessing, while his left hand holds the Gospel Book, symbolizing his role as a defender of the true faith and a teacher of the Church. Many icons include the two heavenly figures — Christ and the Mother of God — presenting Nicholas with the Gospel and omophorion, recalling the miracle at the First Ecumenical Council when he was restored to episcopal dignity. The golden background represents the uncreated light of God, while the stylized, non‑naturalistic features emphasize holiness rather than earthly realism. Saint Nicholas is honored as a protector of travelers, sailors, children, and the poor, and his feast is celebrated on 6 December (new calendar) or 19 December (Julian calendar). Perfect for devotional prints, Orthodox home prayer corners, church feast‑day gifts, and designs celebrating the beloved Wonderworker.

I'm pleasantly surprised how well this product is made. Very good quality. It is a good weight, clear writing and beautifully made. I have completely underestimated the size stamp I ordered and now need to order the correct size pad. I can't wait.
