Saint Rita of Cascia, a 14th-century Italian nun, endured a tumultuous life marked by suffering and resilience. Despite an arranged marriage to an abusive husband and the tragic loss of her children, Rita remained steadfast in her faith and commitment to God. After her husband's death, she entered the Augustinian convent, where she devoted herself to prayer, penance, and acts of charity. Rita's piety and miraculous deeds, including her ability to reconcile feuding families, earned her widespread reverence. Canonised in 1900, she is venerated as the patroness of impossible causes, symbolising hope and perseverance in the face of adversity.
