"Saraswati Playing Veena" Greeting Card
Inspired by my recent trip to India, here is a painting based on Hindu devotional imagery of the goddess the Hindu goddess Saraswati! Companion to Brahma and goddess of knowledge, music, arts & science - I've shown her playing her traditional instrument, the Veena (and a majestic peacock - which I saw roaming wild all over in urban areas as well as the countryside!). In India I saw a lot of Hindu devotional artwork - often popping up in the strangest places, on the backsides of trucks, in advertisements and music videos, in temples, posters plastered onto alleyway walls - all so lovely. My original acrylic painting.

We downloaded several photos which was simple and produced a very attractive personalised card for our 11yr old Granddaughter.
I was concerned that the card would not arrive on time but Zazzle came up trumps and the card arrived on the day before her birthday - perfect! I didn't see the card as it went straight to our family in New Zealand. However they did send a photo and it looked excellent!
