Satanic Goat on Stretched Canvas

The Levi Baphomet from the 19th century reimagined and presented here in flaming colour and lush darkness for the new Satanic era. This will look greating hanging on the wall of your castle. In 1854, French occultist Eliphas Levi published his famous book on the Doctrine and Ritual of Transcendental Magic. The frontispiece included an engraving of the horned god which he called "Baphomet" and "The Goat of Mendes." The image horrified many and inspired others in what has been called the French occult revival of the 19th century. The figure represented the absolute and featured various occult symbols including a point-up pentagram on the forehead, mudra handsigns, and the words "Solve" and "Coagula" on the arms. Despite the graphic's intended of representing occult wisdom generally, orthodox Christians have long chraacterised it as satanic. Those of a truly devilish bent, however, have tended to find the old image dated, tame and thus uninspiring. Here that classic image is re-created with explicitly Satanic imagery and symbols; the point-down pentagram, the inverted cross, the 666, the brimstone alchemical glyph, etc. Let there be no question of representation of this archetype. No need to wear a slightly disturbing, ambiguously evil symbol. Now you can have a provocative, unmistakably satanic image.

Very impressive product! The canvas is sturdily made. It features a saw tooth hanger on the back, making it easy to "try out" the canvas in several rooms until I found the best location. It attracts good comments from my friends. I love it! The printing is wonderful! Colors are as bright and crisp as they appeared on the website.

I ordered this product to see what the quality was because I am selling it on my store. Plus it was on sale and it was an excellent price! I didn’t expect it to be as nice. It really is beautiful. I am relieved! The only thing I don’t like about it is the sawtooth hanger on the back. I prefer a wire hanging system. The sawtooth hanger was not even centered but I managed to hang it straight anyway. Overall I love it! I will add the wire myself. The printing was clear and crisp and the colors were excellent! The canvas was stretched tight and professionally done. I am very happy with the quality of the print!
