The twelve half-notes comprising a scale in music take the place of numbers on this clock design. They are displayed in a very ornate typeface, with the appropriate sharps, on a background that resembles parchment -- a lighter inner square contained within the slightly darker outer frame. Music staves are faintly discernible. This, or one of the variations (in a circular shape, or with flats instead of sharps, for example, or a more contemporary look) is the perfect timepiece for the home or studio of a musician.
