Selina's family originally came from Utopia, and the story behind the artworks she paints was taught to her by her father and her aunties. She comes from a long line of well known artists of contemporary Aboriginal art including her world renowned aunties (Gloria and Kathleen Petyarre). Selina also teaches her nieces to paint.
