My great great great great great great great great great great great great great grandfather was an important EARLY FRENCH RENAISSANCE painter to two French kings: King Charles VII (whose coronation was made possible and attended by Saint Joan of Arc) and his son King Louis XI.
He studied painting and perspective drawing theory in Florence, Italy, from the same masters who taught the masters who taught Leonardo da Vinci!!!
He lived during the short life of Saint Joan of Arc and could very possibly have known her or knew of her or he could have seen her during her military campaign against the English during the Hundred Years War. She would have ridden her horse past where he lived as she rose from the Palace of King Charles VII to the Siege of Orleans or when she rode to the king's coronation at Reims as Fouquet lived at Tours.
