This Maneki Neko is celebrating the shamrock which is a well known symbol of Ireland. St. Patrick, whose feast day is celebrated on March 17th (the day of his death), was known to use it to symbolise the Holy Trinity. St. Patrick was a 5th century Christian bishop and missionary in Ireland and is recognised as its patron saint along with St. Brigit and St. Columba.
