Sickle cell disease Poster

Sickle cell anaemia is a disease passed down through families in which red blood cells form an abnormal sickle or crescent shape.It is an autosomal recessive genetic blood disorder. Sickle-cell anaemia is caused by a point mutation in the β-globin chain of haemoglobin, causing polymerisation of the protein and formation of long strands that give the cell a long shape. Sickled cells are sticky and rigid and hence easily get stuck in small blood vessels blocking them and causing ischemia of tissues. Scientifically accurate. Great for school science (biology) lab, doctor offices, clinic, hospital,... for educational purposes. Vector file scaleable to any size without losing resolution.
