Looking West at Mt. Tom (right) and Basin Mountain (left) of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in northern Owens Valley towering over the Buttermilk area and a green pasture near Bishop, CA. Before I was forced to move away, I saw this amazing view every day and took many pics. The great thing about the Owens Valley is that because so much of the land is owned by public agencies (LADWP, State and federal), this view will never change, while in most other parts of California it would have been paved over with a mall, housing tract, or golf course decades ago.
