Silver Candelabra - Tea Towel

Magnolias have been a favorite flower of mine since my childhood when I would admire a copy of a magnolia painting by artist 'Vesty Rich' on my grandparents' wall. Taking the basic shapes of the magnolias, I designed and painted this artwork using silver and white acrylic paints on canvas. The shapes of the flowers sitting upright on the stems reminded me of a candelabra and so I named the work 'Silver Candelabra'. The birds sit quietly in their silvery white refuge, observing their surroundings as the promise of spring and all its goodness is in the air.
