Sinclair C5 Two-Tone Coffee Mug

The Sinclair C5 was a wonderful idea, and one which may have been given more of a chance if it had appeared in today's environmentally-conscious world instead of the brash Eighties. The C5 was an electric vehicle, intended to be driven around the cities of the world in huge numbers. Quiet, clean and convenient, the C5 was to revolutionise transport. The downside was that the thing was small and people driving one looked a little silly and felt vulnerable in conventional city traffic. Still, today's fast-developing electric cars owe much to the failures of the 1980s C5 experiment, and it will surely be mentioned as a pioneering machine when the history of electric cars comes to be written.

The coffee mug is beautifully painted in the two-tone hunter green, with the NZ Fantail bird depicted on both front and back and looks amazing.
