This tote bag features Michelangelo’s frescoed ceiling in the Sistine Chapel, Vatican City, with its central biblical scenes and surrounding monumental figures. Pope Julius II commissioned Michelangelo to repaint the vault in 1508, and the immense cycle was completed in 1512. Nine scenes from Genesis run along the center, framed by painted architecture, prophets, sibyls and figures identified as ancestors of Christ.
