Skimboard Surfer Coffee Mug

This surfer was skimming the waves just south of the Newport Pier in southern California on a summer day when I photographed him from the pier. I really liked the "rooster tail" of the water - the perfect position on the board, and the intense colour of the oil paint on the canvas. The original painting is a 16x20.
