Skinner's Saloon - Bannack Ghost Town Poster

Taken from within Skinner's Saloon which began business in the gold boom town of Bannack, Montana in 1863. The saloon was reputed to be a hangout for the road agent outlaws who murdered over 100 people on the roads to and from Bannack. In fact, Skinner was hung for his complicity with the outlaws. The saloon was a ruckus place with gunfights, gambling, music, and dancing going on most hours of the day and night. The two buildings across the street were built in 1862. The one on the left began as a Blacksmith Shop and the other began as the Montana Hotel.
