This is one of the male Lowland Gorillas at the Kansas City Zoo. Temperatures reached 96 degrees on this particular day as I can attest, so it was miserably hot. However, it was extremely windy so it wasn't as bad as it could have been. This guy slept in this position without moving a muscle, so appeared to be dead rather than sleeping. He slept hard and was not disturbed one iota by any of the visitors. He looks so peaceful but don't be fooled. He weighs in around 400 lbs.
