SMITHSONITE AURICHALCITE POSTER
Smithsonite on Aurichalcite, (ex-collection Pellman), Kelly Mine, Socorro Co., New Mexico, 2 1/4" wide. This was a specimen I had admired for nearly 20 years in the Norm & Roz Pellman collection. It is extremely rare to get crystals of Smithsonite from the Kelly Mine. Most are of the "rolling hill" botryoidal variety. This unique little piece has perfectly formed "barbell" shaped translucent sky blue crystals of Smithsonite sitting atop a rare matrix of turquoise blue Aurichalcite. The combo is gorgeous!
