Those were the darkest nights of the year, when the evil spirits were believed to be hunting. Those were "smudging nights" in old Europe - people used herbs for protection of their homes. The wind sounds like the Wild Hunt tonight. I think I try that clary sage. Apparently it brings wisdom, clarity - and banish airborne bacteria too. It is also important in Native American traditions. All is Alchemy of Life.
