About This Design

Snazzy Purple Glow Stripes Pattern Custom Monogram Coffee Mug

Snazzy Purple Glow Stripes Pattern Custom Monogram Coffee Mug

Snazzy and sophisticated design of elegant skinny stripes in gradiating shades of purple from deep purple at the sides through pale purple at centre back to dark purple. Each stripe is also made of smaller stripes. Change the letter M to your monogram (unless it happens to be M, lucky you!) to personalise this punchy purple pattern. Purple is a colour of royalty or status, wealth, success, confidence, independence, wisdom and balance, magic and mystique. At one time purple pigment or dye was hard to get. The brightest purple, Tyrian, came from the mucus glands of the spiny murex snail - ending badly for the snail - and thousands of snails were needed to keep the royal garments purple. In the Caribbean, another snail called purpura was a source of purple dye. Purple also comes from the metal manganese in rocks, and, if you could not afford snail gland and mangenese extractions, the juice of blackberries would have to do. Not surprisingly, purple was the first synthetic colour, created as cobalt violet in 1859. The colour was unstable and soon replaced with manganese violet. These colours are found in the paint palettes of some of the French Impressionists. Nowadays there's enough purple for everyone. As a favourite colour, women tend to like purple more than men do. It is a colour of elemental Fire, less aggressive and more intuitive than red. Original purple skinny stripes design by M Sylvia Chaume, Canada. Happy purple blessings!
