Does it snow in Hawaii? Those aren't all white clouds in the background - that is snow in Hawaii. It was an overcast day and difficult to see without Hawaii's usual bright blue sky. This is Mauna Loa, as seen driving the infamous Saddle Road from the Kona/ Kohala Coast to Hilo. There was snow on both Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa this particular morning.
