Spathoglottis plicata, commonly known as the Philippine ground orchid, is found in tropical and subtropical Asia to Australia and the western Pacific including Tonga and Samoa. Jean Jules Linden was a 19th century Belgian botanist, explorer, horticulturist and businessman. He specialised in orchids and travelled the world documenting the flowers, painting / illustrating them and writing several books about the gorgeous plant.
