This piece perplexes me. Not sure if I should call it a Smoky Quartz with Spessartine, or a Spessartine on Smoky Quartz? The Smoky Quartz is so outrageously good that I am not sure if it is the more important species? Either way the piece is a stunner. The Quartz glows (without any light!), most mineral collectors will understand when I describe it as "Swiss" quality - and, no, I am not referencing their watches (but, I guess you could). Swiss Smoky Quartz is the benchmark by which all others are measured. In front of this sharp Quartz, where the matrix juts out, you have a deep wine red complete isolated Spessartine and next to it a water clear Aqua crystal. An incredible combination piece. I have not seen another like it.
