SPHEREx Galaxy Hunter Spacecraft Card

The new SPHEREx orbiting near-infrared observatory is a two year NASA space mission to observe nearly half a billion galaxies. SPHEREx is short for Spectro-Photometer for the History of the Universe, Epoch of Reionization and Ices Explorer. It launch in 2023 to create a sky map of galaxies in our Milky Way and beyond. It also hopes to answer questions on the origin of the galaxies, the Universe and water in planetary systems far beyond our planet.
