Spiral Galaxy Messier 74 (M74) | NGC 628 | Hubble Poster
Messier 74 (M74) grand design spiral galaxy, also called NGC 628. From earth point of view, we see that galaxy almost perfectly face-on. It's possible to see glowing pink/red regions of ionised Hydrogen and clusters of young blue stars. All along the spiral arms are large dust lanes starting close to the galaxy's nucleus.
