National flag of Sri Lanka The Sri Lankan national flag is also known as the Gold Lion, and features a lion holding a sword against a deep red background. It was adopted in 1972, and has a 1:2 ratio. Note that any distortion in the preview image is caused by compression artefacts, and won't be printed.
