St. Andrew's Catch of the Day (Plain) Standard Apron

St. Andrew's Catch of the Day (Plain) Standard Apron

As is well known, the future Apostles and saints Andrew and his brother Simon (later renamed Peter) were the sons of one Jonah of the town of Bethsaida on the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee. Fishermen by trade, the men were living and working at the nearby town of Capernaum when they first met Jesus. According to the Gospel of John, Andrew was initially a follower of John the Baptist. He was exhorted by the Baptist to follow Christ. Andrew did, and subsequently introduced his brother to Jesus as the long-promised Messiah. For this reason, Andrew is known as the “Protokletos” or “First-Called” Apostle. + Here Saints_Aplenty has depicted St. Andrew having come ashore, perhaps after the miraculous draught of fishes, holding up some Galilean tilapia strung on lines. An extra fish is even carried in the folds of his draped mantle! A Saints-Aplenty exclusive, the image is a pastiche of elements extracted from 19th-century devotional prints and public domain resources against (where present) an AI-generated background from Pixabay. St. Andrew is the first in a projected series of genially humourous “Apron Saints,” saints who knew their way around the kitchen. + St. Andrew is a patron of fishermen and fish dealers. + Feast: November 30

My daughter in law loved this gift. She loved the shorter length and the pockets. Good durable fabric and well made. Would highly recommend. The printing was awesome.. the only comment I would make is that the print could be placed higher on the bib part as when it is tied around the waist you can’t see the writing well.
