St. Ivo of Kermartin (BK 015) Tie
St. Ivo of Kermartin (1253-1303) was a Breton French priest and both a civil and a canon lawyer. He is chiefly known for his pro bono work on behalf of orphans, unprotected widows, and the impoverished, which earned him the title ‘Advocate of the Poor’. He is patron saint of lawyers, especially public defenders. + Feast: May 19 + Image Credit (BK 015): Antique image of St. Ivo of Kermartin from a late 19th-century devotional print in gilt chromolithography (Franciscan Series), originally published by B. Kühlen, Mönchengladbach, Germany, from the designer’s private collection of religious ephemera.
