St. Tikhon of Moscow Orthodox Prayer Card

St. Tikhon, late 19th century / early 20th century Russian saint, was Patriarch of Moscow and Apostle to America. He was pious from a young age and studied at a seminary. He was brilliant in his studies yet humble and affectionate by nature. He became a bishop in Russia then became a bishop in Alaska. He spread Orthodoxy so much that he became known as the Apostle to America. He returned to Russia in a time of horrendous upheaval of the Russian Revolution that also saw the murders of innumerable Orthodox faithful. Churches were destroyed and the flocks scattered. With his determination and profound dedication to God, he managed to gather what little was left of the Church. He implemented strict orders for the clergy to stay apolitical, and he worked relentlessly to preserve and grow the Church despite the profound destruction. Then there was a severe famine in the Volga region, and St. Tikhon worked tirelessly to help them.
