The obverse side of the coin resembles the original Washington Quarter, while the reverse side showcases Lincoln, the Chicago skyline, a farm scene, and the outline of the state. The coin is surrounded by 21 stars, symbolising Illinois's admission to the Union in 1818. The inscriptions on the coin include "Land of Lincoln," "21st State," and "1818."
