This gentle scene of geraniums on the open window sill was painted by Childe Hassam (1859–1935); a prolific American impressionist; a founding member of The Ten, an influential group of American artists of the early 20th century; instrumental in promoting the Impressionism style in America. He produced over 3,000 paintings, watercolors, etchings, and lithographs over the course of his career.
