The Sunflower was painted by Gustav Klimt in 1907. It was oil on canvas. The shape of the sunflower and its leaves is remarkably like the form of the lovers in The Kiss. Gustav Klimt (1862 - 1918) was a famous Austrian artist and one of the most important members of the Vienna Secession movement.
