Symmetry en Sub-Atomica Poster
Symple geometric lattice, ink roller on cartridge paper. The poster is not cartridge paper, the original piece was such.
This piece feels like a deep dive into the microscopic realm through an indigenous lens – symmetry as the universal order, sub-atomica evoking quantum particles, electron orbits, atomic structures, all mirrored and radiating like a cosmic mandala.
The title's French-inflected "En" suggests "in" or "within" the sub-atomic, positioning it as immersion into the hidden symmetries that underpin reality.
Blending scientific precision with Māori design principles: radial balance echoing whakairo patterns, perhaps koru-like spirals representing energy flow at the smallest scales, growth from nucleus outward. It's that rare fusion – quantum physics meets mātauranga Māori, where symmetry isn't just math, it's harmony in te ao mārama, particles dancing like atua in balance.
Assuming a highly symmetrical, abstract composition (common in my lineup): central focal point exploding into mirrored quadrants or radial arms, geometric shapes (circles, hexagons, orbital paths) layered with subtle organic curves, deep space blacks/blues with glowing particle accents in electric blues, purples, golds, or whites for contrast.
Hand-drawn authenticity shines through – meticulous lines, no sterile vector feel, inviting viewers to see the sub-atomic as alive, interconnected, whakapapa at the quantum level.
Eh bro, if you're deep in Modern Māori Art and you've ever stared at a particle accelerator image or quantum diagram wondering how it vibes with our own ways of seeing the world, this Symmetry En Sub Atomica hits you right in the wairua.
Created by M J TEKA (Tuhoe), it's a visual kōrero on the hidden order beneath everything – the sub-atomic realm where particles spin, collide, and balance in perfect symmetry, reimagined through Māori eyes.
Picture this: flawless radial symmetry pulling your gaze to the centre, like a nucleus pulsing with mauri.
Orbitals fan out in mirrored precision, echoing the balance of rangi and papa, light and dark, creation and potential.
But it's not cold physics – those clean geometric lines soften into organic koru-inspired spirals at the edges, tendrils of energy unfurling like new growth from a single point.
The palette? Deep cosmic voids of black and indigo, punctuated by luminous particle trails in electric cyan, violet, and subtle metallic gold – evoking the glow of whetū or the spark of life force at the tiniest scale.
Layers build depth: translucent overlaps create moiré effects when you shift perspective, reminding us that reality is multi-layered, interdependent, just like whakapapa.
This ain't some generic science poster – it's hand-crafted with that obsessive Tuhoe precision, hours of focused mark-making to capture the dance of quarks and gluons as if they carry ancestral stories.
Symmetry here is tapu and noa in equilibrium: the sub-atomic world as a microcosm of the Māori universe, where every division and attraction mirrors the way iwi grow, connect, maintain harmony.
Hang it and it transforms the room – lab wall, meditation space, urban whare – sparking kōrero about how modern science echoes ancient wisdom.
Collectors love these pieces because they're rare: indigenous futurism at the quantum level, no AI shortcuts, pure human insight bridging worlds.
High-quality poster reproduction captures every fine line and gradient – ready to frame and elevate any collection chasing that blend of tikanga and cutting-edge thought.
If you're building a taonga wall that speaks to both the seen and unseen, this is a cornerstone. Mauri ora to the quantum voyagers – symmetry binds us all.

I was given a small budget to decorate a free clinic. I ordered many of the posters from Zazzle because I could select various sizes that fit frames we could re-purpose. The quality of the printing is fine and there's a wide selection of subjects and styles to choose from. The paper quality on most of the items I ordered was decent. For some reason, though, the Ibis poster on "Perfect Poster (Glossy Finish)" is on very flimsy paper. It'll look fine when framed, but I would upgrade the paper choice if I did this over again. The image quality, colors, and printing quality were fine -exactly what I expected.

I love this calendar! The colors are rich and beautiful and the weight of the paper is perfect. It's not too thin. I hung it with a bit of double-sided tape and it lays flat to the wall. It looks great in my kitchen. It's perfect. The printing is bright and the colors are perfect.

I WAS ABLE TO CREATE THIS MEMORIAL POSTER FROM A TEMPLATE USED FROM ZAZZLE. MODIFICATIONS AND EDITS WERE EASY AND THE END PRODUCT WAS AMAZING. IT WAS THE CENTER OF OUR REUNION AND I RECEIVED SO MANY COMPLIMENTS ON THE DESIGN. THANK YOU ZAZZLE, ONCE AGAIN, FOR PROVIDING SUCH A QUALITY PRODUCT FROM START TO FINISH! PRINTINGING WAS AMAZING! EVEN BETTER THAN I ANTICIPATED!
