Szechenyi Chain Bridge in Budapest, Hungary Tile

This ceramic tile features one of the monumental stone lions at Budapest’s Széchenyi Chain Bridge, with the suspension bridge and Danube extending behind it. The Chain Bridge was completed in 1849 to a design by W. T. Clark and became the first permanent link between Buda and Pest across this stretch of the river. Its stone gate structures and sculptural guardians turned an engineering project into a civic monument, now integral to the UNESCO-listed Danube panorama.
