The term "black swan" comes from the theory of science and describes an outlier event that is usually beyond everyday perception. With the financial crisis of 2007/08, this concept has become a common language. It is often referred to as a "tail event" or "tail risk", as its occurrence is on the edge of a standard statistical distribution curve. As such, it is often used to describe a negative event that slips off the normal flow of things. The design on this product tries to show this threatening character, in a way not so much the "elephant in the room" as the "swan in the room".
