About This Design

Takeda Hishi Luggage Tag

The family crest of the Takeda clan. It is derived from the fact that Shinra Saburo Minamoto no Yoshimitsu, the ancestor of the Kai Genji, had a crest of a divided rhombus on the sleeve of his armor by divine oracle. (From 'A book that explains the family crests of Sengoku warlords') / Takeda Shingen (1521-1573) is descended from Yoshikiyo, son of Shinra Saburo Yoshimitsu of the Seiwa Genji clan. They came to be known as the Takeda clan after living in Takeda no sho in Kai Province. (From Kenichi Takahashi's 'The family crests and flags of samurai families')
