Temple of Bacchus, Baalbeck, Lebanon The temple of Bacchus or the Little Temple was built in the 2nd century and it's in excellent shape. It was fortified in the Middle Ages, but the mediaeval constructions were mostly removed during the archaeological excavations. Baalbeck is located on the Bekaa plain near the Litani river.
