The word tesseract was coined in 1888 by Charles Howard Hinton, from Greek meaning, "four rays". The name was made popular in the Marvel Universe with the Cosmic Cube (tesseract) being one of the six infinity stones. The tesseract (hypercube) is a four-dimensional version of the cube. The tesseract is to the cube as the cube is to the square. This symmetry provides a glimpse into the multidimensional nature of reality itself. Through it's contemplation one is set upon the firm basis of objective truths according to universal order, proportion, and harmony.
