'Twas the night after Christmas, and all through the house, just one creature was stirring, an oddly-shaped mouse. In sweet lederhose it scampered around, till a loud and coarse wheezing sent it running for ground. "Gott im Himmel!" roared father, startled from sleep. "What have you done, Mutter?" to a bed-shaking screech. "I told you to leave it right there where it lay, that cursed Akkordeon shop down the way!" "Now Vater," said mother, fingers in her ears, "Our tenants are awful and their rent's in arrears. I give them a day, not one second more, then off with the lot of them! Laufen for the door!" Father looked at her smiling, and nodded his head. "I see what you're doing, they'll wish they were dead! But there's a flaw in your plan, oh Mutter my dear, we'll be hearing that Katzenmusik all year!" An almighty groaning echoed out through the house, shaking the windows and scaring the mouse. Then with a loud 'Pop!' the awful noise ceased. "Mein Bruder has stabbed it! Mein thing is deceased!"
