The Arctic Ocean: 17x11 Print

Seascape painting of the Arctic Ocean at the shoreline north of Alaska. Low waves wash the shore with water that is fresh from the melting ice beyond the horizon in the polar region. The salt water is heavier and sinks far below. A veil of white clouds drift across the sky and off to the far horizon. This marks the edge of the wilderness of the North Slope, facing the cold wind quietly pouring in from the open sea. The weather at the coast is cold, but mild compared to the severe winters that freeze the water and seashore into solid ice. All journeys by land going as far north as possible end here, and begin the long haul back home.
