The mythological Roman Goddess of Love, Venus, with her long flowing hair taking a bath. The beautiful woman is walking down stairs to step into the water. Her musician maidens are around her to help. Some have musical instruments to play music.

Sir Edward Coley Burne-Jones, 1st Baronet (1833-1898) was an English artist and designer closely associated with the later phase of the Preraphaelite movement.
