The Battle of Trafalgar Puzzle

In the Battle of Trafalgar, on October 21st, 1805, HMS Victory breaks the Franco-Spanish lines. Followed by HMS Temeraire and HMS Neptune. This shows Victory running aboard the French 74 frigate Redoutable . She has just given a full broadside, raking the French Bucentaure from stern to stem. In This kind of manoeuvre, the death toll would have been enormous. Cannonballs, Splinters large and small, other flying debris shattering. Not to mention the noise and smoke. Old men aged down to small boys were wounded and killed outright in these battles. Those that never died in battle often died afterward as splinter wounds turned nasty and got infected. The smoke would actually have made visibility zero. Lord Horatio Nelson was aboard HMS Victory, though he wasn’t the Captain. By being aboard her Victory was the flagship of the Royal Navy . He was Fatally shot by a marksman in the fighting top of the Redoutable. If he was, with all that smoke I doubt very much it was actually an aimed shot . That’s my personal opinion only.
