The Cathedral of Florence, Jigsaw Puzzle

The Duomo of Florence is the metropolitan cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, and is the symbol of the city and one of the most famous monuments in Italy. Its construction began in 1296 based on a design by Arnolfo di Cambio, and ended in 1436 with the construction of Filippo Brunelleschi's dome, the largest in masonry ever built. The current façade, in polychrome marble, is from the modern era and dates back to 1887. The Cathedral houses works of art of great value within it, such as the mosaic of the Baptism of Christ by Andrea del Castagno, the funerary monument of Antonio d' Bear by Tino di Camaino, the Crucifix by Benedetto da Maiano, the wooden choir carved by Baccio d'Agnolo and Francesco da Sangallo, and the famous fresco clock by Paolo Uccello. The cathedral has a Latin cross plan, with three naves and a triconch rotunda that supports the dome. The central nave is 45 metres high and 16 metres wide, while the side naves are 24 metres high and 8 metres wide. The total length of the cathedral is 153 metres, while the width is 38 metres. The dome has a diameter of 45.5 metres and a height of 114.5 metres. The cathedral can hold up to 30,000 people.
