This is a detail of "The Consecration of the Emperor Napoleon 1 and the Coronation of the Empress Josephine in the Cathedral of Notre-Dame of Paris on 2 December 1804" painted by Jacques-Louis David in completed in 1806. I believe the title says it all, don't you. The original is a nearly incomprehensible size of 247 x 385 in inches. One literally has to walk along this to view it. We looked at this for a very long time. It is like a photograph in its' detail, amazing.
