The Courtesan after Eisen by Van Gogh 1887 ... Vincent Van Gogh while still in Paris was influenced by the new free trade with Japan and Japanese woodblock printing art. He painted The Courtesan in 1887 oil on canvas 23 3/4 inches by 41 1/2 inches. This 15.1 MB file allows a print as large as almost 36 inches by 60 inches! Perfect for oriental or van Gogh decor. The Courtesan is a high class woman of the court in traditional court dress. Japan had just opened up to the West allowing free trade after centuries of very restricted culture protection.
