About This Design

The Grand Lady (Mediaeval Noble Woman) Tile

The Grand Lady (Mediaeval Noble Woman) Tile

This design features a painting by the British Pre-Raphaelite artist John Collier (1850–1934). It shows a wealthy lady wearing an elegant dress in a mediaeval setting. Perhaps she is a princess or a noblewoman. The long train of fabric attached to the lady's dress is being carried by two young boys, who are also part of the aristocratic court. The lady is walking down some stone steps in a graceful and refined manner. There are manicured lawns of grass on either side of her. There are also some tall conifer fir trees. The sky is blue with some white clouds, and there are mountains in the distance. The costume that the lady is wearing is blue and gold, and she has an elaborate headdress in a style that was fashionable in the European Middle Ages. The lady's dress is dark blue with a golden fleur-de-lis pattern. The original artwork was painted by John Collier in 1920.

My fiancé and I were happy when we received the tile. It’s Peru and was worth paying extra for expressing postage. Good quality and it is exactly like we wanted it. We are very pleased.

Just perfect for my needs. I want to use it in my garden as a little memorial to my Nana whose name was Iris :). Printing is just great :)
