"The Harpist and the Tree" Postcard
“The Harpist and the Tree” (2014) is the second painting of the “Divine Women” series, which explores the enigmatic world of captivating women of mortal and divine nature. There is a story about a beautiful girl who played the harp since she was a very little. One day, while walking through a forest, came across a handsome young man at the foot of a leafy and strong tree, and both fell in love immediately. That summer, the young lovers were inseparable and spent most of the time next to the tree where they met, where the girl played captivating melodies with her harp. The lovers were quick to declare their undying love and they sealed their vow with an oath to the old tree, so that nothing and no one could ever separate them. However, by tricks of fate, the boy fell ill at the end of summer, with a mysterious fever that seemed to have no cure, succumbing within days of getting it. With her heart overshadowed by the sudden death of her lover, the young girl broke the harp in a stroke of sadness and bitterness and ran into the woods, where she wept inconsolably on the roots of the old tree. Suddenly, without noticing it, a radiant deer approached to her unnoticed, who said with a soothing voice: ‘Do not cry, beautiful harpist, since the tree upon you sworn your love is a Spirit of Life, and while your music will last, your love can never be separated from you.’ And with those words, the branches and roots of the tree began to move and intertwine, forming a wonderful harp that left the girl breathless. However, her heart beat again filled with joy when she discovered that her beloved’s face had appeared on the tree trunk. Understanding the message of the deer, the girl sat down to play the harp and the face smiled at the lovely music from the strings. And since then, the girl never failed to meet her beloved in the tree, whom she accompanied with her music until the last day of her life… All works are protected under copyright © law.

Such a huge range of different frogs available, which made my choices very difficult and now the reason I have a whole draw full of cards and postcards! Much better quality than you can buy in the shops and they are exactly on the subject I love and adore too.
