"The Jolly Pint" is a seasonally festive homage to Édouard Manet's painting, "Le Bon Bock (The Good Beer)." Painted in 1873 after the Prussian occupation of Paris, the image of an older man enjoying the simple pleasures of smoke and an ale struck a chord with Parisians and became an instant success. This portrait of Santa Claus, weary after a long Chirstmas Eve of delivering gifts, enjoys a well-earned smoke, and refreshing pint of milk.
