About This Design

The Librarian Burning Forbidden Futures Poster

The Librarian Burning Forbidden Futures Poster

Hidden beneath the oldest parts of civilisation exists an endless library containing books that do not record the past, but futures that have not yet happened. Every volume upon the towering shelves describes a different possible destiny for humanity and countless other worlds — futures of enlightenment, peace, transcendence, collapse, war, extinction, cosmic madness, and realities beyond human understanding. Deep within the infinite corridors of glowing books and drifting ash, a solitary librarian walks alone deciding which futures must never be allowed to exist. One by one, forbidden timelines are carried to an ancient table and burned in sacred fire, erasing those possible realities from existence forever. As each book burns, fragments of alternate worlds escape from the pages like dying memories while entire civilisations vanish from possibilities that will now never come to pass. Surrounded by endless shelves stretching into darkness, the librarian quietly carries the unbearable responsibility of deciding which futures survive and which are lost forever. Combining cinematic fantasy realism, surreal cosmic philosophy, mythological atmosphere, and existential storytelling, this artwork captures the terrifying beauty of holding humanity’s possible destinies in your hands.

I originally ordered this print in a larger size but was not pleased with the clarity of it. When I contacted Zazzle, they responded really quickly and were very helpful. I was able to reorder the print in a smaller size and it was shipped to me within a couple of weeks. The print was packaged well to ensure there was no damage during transit (Eco friendly, too!), and I am really pleased with it. I am so grateful to the customer service team for the professional way they handled my order. I had this printed on matt finish card and I was really pleased with the quality. The colours were rich and the image sharp.
