The Mayflower was one of two ships that set sail for the American Colonies. The second ship, the Speedwell, developed problems and had to turn back. The Shatto Chapel of the First Congregational Church of Los Angeles, 540 S. Commonwealth Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90020, was built to the same exact dimensions of the Mayflower, only inverted. As you sit in this little chapel and gaze up, close your eyes and imagine yourself crossing an ocean in this tiny crowded ship and headed into the great unknown.
